How long do I have to rent?

The lease is month-to-month and there is no minimum stay. You can move out at your convenience, at any point. Most of our tenants fall into three groups: those that use storage as a lifestyle, those that use storage during a big move, and those that use storage for a project. Storage as a lifestyle allows our tenants to rotate seasonal and seldom-used items in and out of their storage unit, keeping their home or garage free from the clutter. Renting storage for a big move typically means a tenant stays for a year or more. Getting settled in, unpacked and organized can take a while and renting storage allows customers to unpack at their leisure, without the stress of boxes and clutter. Other tenants find that renting storage for a short time, such as during a renovation or life transition is the best way to hold on to their items until they can place them back in their home. Therefore, rest assured, we have a space for your long-term storage or short-term storage needs.

When can I access my storage unit?

We offer 7AM to 7PM access to our locations so that you can come and go at your convenience. The store manager can give you details about your local storage location.

How can I reduce humidity in my unit?

You can prevent humidity by storing only dry items; you should avoid placing damp items in storage. We also offer climate controlled storage units and units at most stores, which is a great way to protect your items from changes in temperature and humidity.

How tall / wide are your doors?

Door sizes vary by unit size and range from three to ten feet (one to three meters) wide. Typically, our doors are roll-up doors like a garage door. If you have specific door requirements, talk to our store manager and he or she will find the best solution for your need and be able to provide specific door measurements.

Do you price match?

We are competitively priced and offer move-in specials as well as the Preferred Customer Rate Program. Our pricing is designed to offer more savings at the move-in and during the long term. Our customers choose us for our amenities, and convenient storage location.

Are there lights or outlets in the storage unit?

Our interior storage units are located in brightly lit hallways. However, some individual units have lights included. Call your local store for specifications.

Can I use the storage unit as a workshop?

Yes, we have many storage units suitable as a workshop. Our store manager can provide all the details about how to make the space a comfortable workplace for your needs. You cannot have customers coming and going from it.

Can I share access to the space with my family and co-workers?

Yes, you decide who may have access to your storage unit. The store manager should be aware of anyone who has permission to use your Gate code.

What kind of documentation do I need to rent storage?

All you need to rent storage is a valid photo ID issued from an official source.

What happens if I lose the key to my storage unit?

You hold the only key to your storage unit. However, if you should misplace it, we have procedures available to help you access your storage unit. In addition, we have locks for sale in the stores so you can replace the lock and have a new set of keys

Can I get a refund?

All of our retail products are fully refundable if you are not satisfied with your purchase. However, we do not prorate rental payments for any partial months.

How can I pay my rent?

Trident Self-Storage offers several options to pay your rent. First, you may always come into the store and use cash, check, debit card, or credit in the office. Second, you go on an automatic payment option, which will charge your credit card each month. Third, you can mail a check in your account number on the bottom left corner of the check anytime during the month to pay your bill.
